They're the best major NZ party, not amazing but not as bad as any of the alternatives. Them being in charge is mostly good because it means NZ doesn't accelerate rightwards, and by forming a government without needing a coalition there's a chance that (if Arden retires before the next election) a more leftwing candidate can inherit a lot of power. It also means that there's a lot of potential for e.g. the Green party to pull off leftwing voters at the next election - Labour to Green is a much smaller step than e.g. National to Green.
