Isn't it the same rhetoric that was used to justify aggression towards the USSR? My uneducated guess would be that there exists a very serious effort to prepare the public for agreeing to more and more NATO aggression. It seems that many liberals are already swallowing the bait.

I’m sure the NAFO people are super excited for a proper war so they can go to the front lines and fight properly. That’s surely what they want and not just posture behind a computer screen.

The first one sounds like he’s trying to describe the Russians like they’re Nazis. The rest is par for the course rhetoric that’s been plaguing this war, I don’t understand why they think Putin is going to push past Ukraine once the war ends, what would be the reason? I realize that they’re just manufacturing consent for dismantling and balkanizing Russia, but still, how can they justify this with just vibes and no proof?

Ask them how they know that. Any proof or policy that Putin claims this is the goal? At the end of the day they are probably just repeating what they heard on TV from some host sitting behind a desk rather than from any Russian authority.

Yeah, usually when I ask them that they either say they heard it in the news ("Putin wants to reestablish the czarist empire for his legacy"), or they retort with racism ("that's what Russians always do")
