what the fuck man, I know the entertainment industry as a whole is already plagued to the brim with capitalism but holy hell - I suppose capitalism truly knows no bounds. As if fucking over healthcare, education, food, along with other basic necessities of life isn't enough, it goes on to (even further) fuck over the entertainment aspect of life too?

    What is it? AOL-Time Warner, ABC-Disney, General Electric, and Vivendi Universal own something like 95% of all media consumed in North America, Europe, and Oceania? This includes movies, TV, music, and video games.

    Japan and South Korea are on another level of monopolization and consolidation. Sony has been making these moves for a while and seems set to position itself as the corporate overlord for nearly all of Japan.

    Feature, not a bug, of neoliberalism. Deregulation of antitrust/anti-monopoly laws decreases competition and concentrates entire industries into three corporations in a trench coat.
