Polish media has a superficial take, and we know "far left" is meaningless without context.
I'd appreciate if any comrades have suggestion, material or overview about the situation there.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. About Malema himself, whom I haven't heard about up until now, there is a book called "The coming revolution: Julius Malema and the fight for economic freedom" (https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=EDCED55FD90E120459F21950A0EDB67B)
I'm sorry but all I can find in terms of articles are those made by some bourgeois newsletters. Found an article from "biznews.com". You can imagine what kind of take they had. I can link to it here if you wanna read about what he said and are willing to forego the loss in braincells. The first part of the article is decent as in it vaguely states what he said: (https://www.biznews.com/thought-leaders/2023/08/22/james-myburgh-kill-the-boer-discourse)
That being said, here's a cool video by "African Diaspora News Channel": (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3HxvSkMMZc)
And here a 3 month old video of an Interview with him by a channel called "Economic Freedom Fighters": (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X4ynX6rNSI)
When it comes to my opinion: Down with the US and its disgusting empire! I do not personally like Putin or his state at all, but they are just a symptom of the US' imperialism. For South Africa to be forced by the west to take a stance here by arresting Putin, is just outrageous and the usual western intervention in the politics of nations that they're exploiting. When it comes to supporting the US or Russia, I'm taking the latter, as the US would be weakened, the global south would get better deals with Russia and China and thus the power of Socialism globally would grow. So in the end I think Malema is right in his speech.
Also, I like his beret, so extra points there o.O
That's indeed a really great video, thank you for the resources and overview!
He's ticking the right boxes so far. My white south africa friends may not like the result of my (ahem) research. :P
afaik EFF are some flavour of socialist? And I don't think thye mean the song to be taken literally, but frankly, why the fuck is so much of South Africa's farmland owned by a tiny number of Hwite settler-colonists?
I just really wish I could find a good vid of Kill the Boer to add to my "upset the liberals" playlist. No matter where I look I just get settler-colonists seething about it.
Julius Malema, stood before a huge crowd at a rally on Saturday, directly calling for the murder of the Boers
Yeah right, if you watch the whole video of it he was not standing, he was jumping or dancing. And he was not alone whole stadium was singing it. And he claims it is not call to kill anyone, but is part of their history which still hurts.
Funny thing is popularity of it started with Elon Musk complaining and not liking Julius Malema. Musk is from SA.
Here is video showing it and explaining https://youtu.be/U6hksJ6T3GA and to get some context how racist those white people over there are https://youtu.be/-AGPiY6PnDw
I know there is some Julis Malema press conference that last almost two hours and he explains it and answers questions, try to find it I can find it right now.
That said, I can not give you context with some reliability, but can give you links to few yt channels I am following in my quest to get better picture of people in Africa you can find their thoughts:

This is awesome stuff, thank you. African diaspora news sounds just like geopolitical economy report.
Apparently Malema claims "revolutionary party", agrarian reform, anti imperialism, solidarity to Cuba in this speech https://youtu.be/O3HxvSkMMZc.
He's ticking the right boxes so far, I'm starting to feel good for the black peoples of south africa.
I would be concerned if that leans in favor of black peoples only, because that usually seeds fascism in white commoners. Right?
I am glad you like it, I was trying for years to find any local info from Africa, mostly to get to know the culture there and it was non existent. Looks like big parts got access to internet in the last few years and started sharing, it is beautiful.
I don't think they will just start viewing withe people, from whose hand they have suffered a lot during centuries and still do, as equals anytime soon.
But I do think that the way toward it is for them to free themselves and looks like it is happening in whole sub Saharan Africa.
From what I’ve heard they’re popular Marxist Leninists with a good analysis of settler colonialism. I need to get to listening to Malema’s speeches some time.
