I saw this in the subscription feed of my "West Lemmy" account and it tickled me. This is the clip being referenced for those not in the know.
My mom and I both enjoyed YuruYuri a lot — in fact mom still occasionally just says "Akkariiiin!" or "Toshino Kyoko!" randomly — but YuruYuri is definitely a problematic fave for me, and I'm apparently not the only Hexbear who feels that way.
Basically, if you could watch Azumanga Daioh Despite Kimura or Lucky Star Despite Sojiro, then YuruYuri might be up your alley — and if you couldn't, there's a decent chance you'd be put off by YuruYuri.

Ayyyy, I was just listening to a random Yuru Yuri drama CD today to get in some Japanese immersion! Been ages since I watched it (I watched S1 and S2 when they came out, so over a decade ago), but I can imagine there's some iffy stuff in there. All I know is Himawari x Sakurako OTP
Also if it weren't for Yuru Yuri there'd be no Smoku Smoki, and that would be a terrible fate
The main thing that stands out to me as offputting about YuruYuri is Akane's infatuation with her younger sister Akari. There are certainly other iffy things, like maybe Chitose's fantasies, but Akane's thing for Akari is the most iffy thing. It isn't something that comes up super often, that I can remember, but it does come up in the first episode.
Also Himawari x Sakurako is indeed OTP. — There's actually two movies about Sakurako and her sisters now, you know.
