Game captured me in the first 5 minutes its like pure fun and joy. Quick and exciting intro then thrown straight into the game no boring setup teaching me how to drive forwards.

Can't believe I have denied myself such a perfect game all this time

Yeah Forza Horizon is probably one of the best arcade racers right now, with the downfall of Need For Speed and Burnout (I'd recommend checking them out if you missed out on their peak during the 2000s), it was never a direct competitor to Gran Turismo. The competitor to Gran Turismo is Forza Motorsport, and it's downright sad what happened to that game series in the last few years. Went from such good games during the Xbox 360 era, to whatever it is now.

Forza motorsport is pure dookie. I am very fond of old arcade racers and completely slept on forza horizon because i just assumed arcade racers are all mid now but it really just captures that arcade racing feel of just making me happy. The intersection of nice music, colourful visuals and speed are chefs-kiss

played more of 4 and it is a banger but i have to say the environment in 5 is just so much more appealing than endless british landscapes lol

Having played both I tend to agree that the gameplay is better in 5 but the vibes are better in 4. There was something magical about it that I think was missing in 5. I played them back to back in 2022. It is annoying that some car models seem to be carried over from FM2 though (s15 Sylvia and r34, mainly)

It's just so much more fun to drive around an actual landscape and not boring ass racetracks
