Y'all wouldn't be having a fit if Matt Christman was the one saying it, but go off

Who cares what some podcast dude thinks? Everyone here takes podcast hosts opinions wayy too seriously. The reason they got downbeared or whatever wasn't because they were wrong, it was because they were being an ass about it and did the whole "people are only into astrology to get laid" thing.

I agree we shouldn't care what podcast dudes says. And yes they were an ass about it. The fact that some men play along with that stuff to get laid is so completely true tho, they're just mad for being called out

except Matt Christman has the correct take that it's not real, but still a useful framework for talking about yourself to other people in a fun way

I almost agree with that but I wouldn't use the word "useful". It is a fun way to talk about it I guess

man i just think it's fun to practice a mysterious piece of old human culture. it can be thrilling to think for a moment that you're engaging with something unseen. it can be emotionally cathartic to write and cast spells, and in some cases therapeutic, to use something like tarot to talk with your friends about your lives. i also like the natural, woodsy, crystally, cosmic aesthetic that comes with collecting those kinds of things. plus i dont give a shit what anyone else thinks. its just a vibe, people who take it seriously are just geeking about it, like we all do about one thing or another. no offense to practicing witches, i would say the same thing about other religions.

astrology is a somewhat common talking point for antifeminists, because it's mainly women who are into astrology, and they think that shows that women are irrational

Just because antifeminists attack it doesn't mean we need to defend it. However the distinction we need to make is this; women are more into it than men NOT because women are more 'irrational', but because astrology has been heavily marketed to women.
