Not that Andromeda didn't deserve it, mind you. By far the worst ME release. So much promise and it's fucking ruined by dogshit dialogue, character assets, stilted ubisoft level animation, and bugs.

Maybe it's because you're literally 500 years of FTL travel away from the Citadel, but to me Mass Effect Andromeda felt like being left at a classmate's house when you're really young and you realise too late that they suck to hang out with but you can't get a lift home so you're stuck there

I got Andromeda ages after release when it was on sale and it was great. Most of the bugs were fixed (though I encountered a game breaking one that required digging back through autosaves to salvage) and the mechanics were pretty satisfying. The characters were the weakest aspect and the story was fairly bleh but hey, there were also some of the racyest sex scenes I've ever seen in a game so, swings and roundabouts. Looking forward to the new one if they're returning to the setting of the originals - that paired with the new mechanics is a recipe for a good game (touch wood)

I gave up on mass effect after the shit show that was the third game, so I never bothered with Andromeda

I played it on my brothers Xbox One base yesterday and it may be the worst game I've ever played. Its flat out unfinished. No one would ever show this off at a trade show. Minute to minute there are things that are wrong and heavily stand out. Glitches, lack of animations, sluggish controls, texture and lighting pop in, fps issues, hang time, all the stars are here. It doesn't play like a finished game.

Like I don't know if its salvagable. Itd take years, plural.

      Yeah that checks out.

The PC version is actually a different game.

I knew I was in a for a disappointing time with ME:A when, on the bridge of the colony ship, I saw a character model and wondered "whoa, what interesting new species is this?!". And then wandered over to them only to discover it was just an absolutely abysmal looking human. Like, I wasn't even sure until another member of the bridge crew confirmed that they were human.

And this was 2-3 years after release.

But, a lot ME:A's problems also come down to being forced into using the Frostbite engine, and there's lots of investigations into how and why that occurred.

I dunno if you can say it's getting that much love. There's a ton of marketing but all of the hype around it seems to be centered on how nonfunctional the console releases are and how so many of the game's systems are obviously unfinished.

Peebee needs to be nuked from orbit though. I cannot believe they turned an Asari into Jar Jar Binks. Fucking embarassing shit canada
