It was a vanilla whitelisted server with a very tight knit community. Along with this change, it is now deciding to go public and is getting plugins for land claims and shit. Instantly went from something special to another shitty generic Minecraft server in the server lists.

Goddamnit, years of builds just down the drain. This is why I hate Minecraft servers. I just wanna build cool long term projects that'll last a long time :(

Edit: I joined the Chapo server, and one of the users on the Chapo server used to be a long time player of the server I just left. Very small world!

      Yeah I'll probably check out the Chapo Minecraft server now. I'd play single player, but what's the point of building cool stuff if you can't share it with anyone.

      I tried joining it just now, but it seems I spawned under a building and am trapped by barrier blocks. Is there some kind of application I need to do before joining or is this just a problem with the spawn?

    I don't know anything about minecraft, but is it possible to get a backup of a server and run it somewhere else?

      That's up to the server owner, it'll probably be difficult because the map file size is over 70 gigs. It might be possible to just get the portion of it I built in, then maybe I can build it again somewhere else on a different server lol

      I'd rather not try to play Minecraft while people shout racial slurs at me in chat and try to destroy my builds. And I definitely would not pay 20 dollars a month for priority queue to do just that.
