The study showed that QDS has obviously anti-inflammatory activity for both acute and chronic inflammatory, also has a remarkable effect for healing dental ulcer caused by phenol. QDS didn’t have antibacterial activity to selected strains in vitro.

Yep. I got canker sores all the time when I had braces as a teenager and I swore by this stuff.

I don't know if this will help you but I started getting far fewer and far milder canker sores when I stopped using toothpaste with sodium lauryl sulfate. There's research suggesting a casual link, at least for some people who are SLS sensitive: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7825393/

It's listed as an "inactive ingredient" on toothpaste boxes but usually not on the tubes themselves.

Yeah this fixed my canker sores too! I used to get really painful ones all the time, and my gums would get swollen and bleed as well. For a mainstream brand that doesn't have SLS but still has fluoride I'd recommend Sensodyne

Lidocaine can help, but it will only last for 10 minutes per application.

I used to get cankers all the time, and then I switched to a sensitive toothpaste. If you get them chronically you might want to try a different toothpaste.

Tincture of Myrrh can help, or maybe that was always just the placebo effect, I dunno.

Whenever I get one I just wash my mouth with Listerine in the morning and at night. For whatever reason it kills them super fast (for me anyway). Probably because the shit is burning liquid death. But hey if it works it works.

Don't use it all the time though. It'll dry out your gums and is actually bad for them in the long haul. Use a fluoride mouthwash instead.
