Yes, it's great for me cause I have tech friends that help me with all my questions and are fun to game with, but my god, not have 1000+ people be part of any semblance of a political discussion.

I don't know anyone can keep track or conversations on there, they move too fast. I'm not even old and I even work in the tech sector but when it comes to discord and twitch I am a big ole boomer
i'll be honest with you, i literally only use the meme thread, but the veiw i get from there is always pretty good (by which i mean i can steal their memes and seem funny to people i know)
There's a very old one called Dirtbag HQ, and there's the one that people here used as an "ark" when the sub was banned, which I just checked and it's now called "John Brown Liberation Society"
I stopped in there once in the heyday of the old sub and it was just absolutely too crowded with people, moved too fast
DBHQ has cooler vibes and people than the ark discord. Their culture there helped calm me the fuck down about politics (you know when you're new to the left all you want to talk about is politics'n'shit) and actually learn to be fairly normal and nonsectarian with a variety of different folks.
Also they scared Virgil Texas off the server the one time he joined to "talk with the fans"

Just don't use the general chat, I only use news, train-gang and meme and I can catch up on those pretty well. Plus the general chat is just drama.
