At an emergency video summit of EU leaders on Tuesday, several leaders warned that failing to uphold the rights of Palestinians in Gaza risked exposing western states to the charge of hypocrisy, said multiple people briefed on the discussion.

Not actual hypocrisy though, just exposing themselves to that charge from others you see.

The empire is expending itself. Their reigns of power are thinning and the slaves states are starting to pull ay their chains harder and harder. Testing the limits. Once they realize the west doesn't have the resources to go after them they will break away.

The new global power of China is rising and showing itself as an advocate for peace and development. Once China starts actually pushing back on the west the empire is done for.

I think we're already starting to see this happening. A lot of interesting stuff has been announced at the BRI meeting that's happening now. Most importantly, the establishment of new trade routes around Eurasia. We're basically seeing a new world economy emerging centred on China right now. And this is happening completely outside western control. The trade routes go through countries that are either neutral or openly hostile to the west leaving very little opportunity for western powers to interfere. And I expect we'll see Global South countries increasingly choose to align themselves with this rising economic bloc.

There is also a slow motion crash happening in the west right now, and at some point we are going to see major economic disruptions. If China manages to insulate itself sufficiently from western economies, then its model will gain a huge amount of credibility going forward.

"Forget about rules, forget about world order"

Oh look, the nations that find ways to undermine or disregard their own rules are concerned the global South only just started paying attention.

Oh no, maybe that means the US has to mind its own business a little bit more.

What if...it pains me to say this, might have to spend a fraction of our war money.......on something CRAZY like fixing infrastructure..or dare I say it? Building walkable sustainable infrastructure that will actually save us money in the long run.

It can't, because the US only has any of those things because of war. War is how the US protects its means of extracting profit from the rest of the world.

Weird how hitting a children's hospital with a jdam, gloating about it and then subsequently lying about will expose that you are a sociopath. That just opens people's eyes for some reason.
