Not at all surprised. Sanders often displayed orientalist opinions towards AES countries and progressive movements. He often supported imperialist interventions too
Welcome back, Nazi Germany
There goes the argument that Ukraine is not a puppet of the USA
It's not that bad, but it really doesn't solve the key problems that drive climate change. It's one of the "evidence-based policies" that libs love to display as a solution to climate change. Carbon tax is however very difficult to implement. Obama tried it and he settled for useless cap'n trade. I am surprised that there is such a debate in Canada, as their record with climate change is not really as progressive as it seems
Lol not even Taiwan thinks it is an independent country
Holy shit I absolutely despise neolibs who just send these "Actually, nothing is wrong with our society" graphs all the time
Western Marxism is on my reading list, but I guess that it is (like other Losurdo's books) a great read.
Gabriel Rockhill also does a good job at translating and editing marxist works. He recently (with the release of the newest Torkil Lausen book) started "Anti-Imperialist Marxism" book series
Most of liberals who back US proxy war usually don't really know the context of the conflict. They buy into russophobic trope of "Russia invading Europe", so they think that literally any concession towards Russia is Munich 1938. Lots of people that I knew that support Ukraine also think that Ukraine has any agency, despite the fact that Kiev is basically a debt bondage puppet state of US. Rather than viewing the war as opportunistic attempt of US to weaken russian capabilities, liberals (and leftists like Sanders) want to believe that somehow the war was always about "protecting democracy" from evil barbaric oriental hordes.
People also have misguided ideas about euromaidan and political climate of post-2014 Ukraine. General view of 2014 coup is that it was a some kind of "grassroot" revolution, people demanding freedom from evil russian oligarchs. History teaches us that most of pro-western protests aren't spontaneous and have a very defined leadership and goals. Western press simply glosses over organized fascist/right-wing violence and CIA/US interference in the events. It is also ignored that post-maidan developments were inherently right-wing and reactionary.
So yeah, I would say that liberal support comes from various misrepresentations at best, total ignorance at worst
My biggest self-crit is that I don't really have an artistic taste tbh

Liberals try not to blame electoral failure on Russia challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
The wealth will trickle down, surely
Unfortunately, radlib and ultra-left socialists are insanely common in Poland. I only knew three socialists that actually thought that China (and other AES, except for Cuba) are real socialist countries. Rest of them parrot very common western talking points and constantly try to prove that their socialism is not totalitarian and evil, like the one in USSR

US is so cooked, people there think that DEI is super radical communism, while in reality it's nothing more than some liberal program
I think this short essay was the first thing that appeared in monthly review

Although I don't really like january, this month has been really good for me. I managed to read 5 books already and I am doing ok at school do far
The Economist try not to predict chinese collapse for 1 second challenge (impossible)
I hate the alt-lite
