I'm out of spells, but not of options!
Hey, Im one of those players I guess. My second character was a warlock and it was such an improvement over my first one. I would like that we had the level of costumization that warlocks offer or at least cool options. Battle master is ok in that sense, it gives you some cool maneuvers, but the there isn't a scaling like warlock's invocations.
Eventually I will work on my own progression for martial characters, to make them more flexible on early levels and more powerful at higer levels.
As much as I like A5e, they just solved one of those problems, so I would like to buff martials on levels 15 to 20. But I have some concerns about how should I implement that, not everyone likes the "air cut" patch or ground tremor.
Never trust people that say that they know what they're doing!
Yeah options are almost everything! Thats THE reason why I like warlocks. With little to no multiclass you can play a lot of playstyles.
You are welcome!
It has been only in a couple oneshots but I will start a campaign soon. What I have noticed is that even at level 1 the barbarian in my party had more options, he choosed a battle hammer (d10 one) and it has a property called parry that is usable onece on your turn and it let's you ad 1d4 to your ac to a hit.
Is minor, but meaningful because now you aren't sucked with big damage weapons only. The bard on my party also feeled same way. Im looking forward to level 3+ to see what this system is capable of. Designing a combat is easier as a side note.
Also, there is a forum in which people talk about A5e here .
Is a bit crunchier tho, not as old editions, but more than standard 5e so be aware that not every player would like it.
Im a bit late to this party hahaha I like what they did to Eldritch Knight, pretty good quality of life changes
But
Im sure that im moving to Level up advanced 5e now, all these changes are too conservative for what I was expecting.
Is really hard to make everyone happy, in my group there are 7 people. 3 of us are 24 and the oldest is 47, we are like very different but it helps that our dm is 32 so he is between all of us in age. I really like how diverse is everything, but combat tends to be chaotic because there is some of us that know the rules of the game and there is some of us that dont.
Perhaps you have to talk about or try to gess what may interest to all of you (like a ben diagram). Or perhaps you could go for an adventure of the week where you explore a individual interest of the player that week (includig DM obviously). Also, is hard to make a mistery game if note everyone is involved, except if the soultion to that mistery is whatever players think is the correct answer. Like i know that guy died and we have this clue, but as a dm you don't have any idea of what is happening and you write the next clue using past game as a reference.
I wish you a nice next game!
Perhaps, well, i didn't think you will find it this easy...
Is hard to invite people to fate beside some oneshot.
Mage could fry some of my friends mind, is too much hahaha but some of them are willing to try Lvl up advanced 5e. I have some really good hopes on that game.
We play lucky once a month, our party is of 6 so scheduling is hard!
I never played Call of Cthulhu, one of my pals wants to be DM (or the name used in the game) but her lif is consuming. Perhaps when my opportunity arrive I will be a secret thief as well.
Damn, thats a lot!
Wow, your DM should learn some design best practices. I have started to look for a new system a while ago, my main problem has been that my party is not as deep as me in RPGs. Im a fate guy and them are dnd because its their first game
White beard just hits different! Good job on your drawing!
