you're absolutely right. i hope my comment didn't come off as blaming or unnecessarily insensitive. i was raised as a boy and i was easily the only one i knew who had to do their own laundry, dishes, cooking etc until mastery. it's a sad state of affairs that that's not considered normal for every child (excepting differences in ability ofc).

    patriachy hurts men too

yea bell hooks was right as usual. patriarchy eviscerates men first and then radiates outward to fuck the rest of us over.

No, no, you're right. Um. I wanted to elaborate because I find many people are dismissive of the difficulty of trying to learn to cook from scratch. It's kind of a pet issue that intersects with food deserts, food instability, the time demands on working class people, shitty kitchens in shitty apartments, and a bunch of other things that conspire to make it difficult for people to cook good food for themselves at home. I've been in so many discussions about it over the years it's almost a reflex now.

i feel you, i have a particularly cavalier way of talking about some stuff that probably comes across as like rude or dismissive. it really is wild how many factors arrayed against you there are even when it comes to absolute basic human necessities like eating, all in the name of either punishing the poor or carving out further niches to monetize.

as an aside, i always love your informative posts, so please never stop explaining on my account! stalin-heart
