I grew up in a household where my father since his college days was pretty much influenced by communism , due to which the time I was growing up , I had a lot of marxist , leninist literature at home , and there were few ussr imported books about communist ideologies ! Few other of my family members are quite communist as well ! So anyone else has similar background ?
My dad was a committed communist in his youth to the point that he was prepared to die for the revolutionary cause, but he ended up becoming a socdem. Even so, I at least got the sense growing up that communism wasn't evil because I knew my dad wouldn't have supported something evil (and he never spoke of it as such), and I inherited his mistrust of received wisdom which primed me to ask the right questions.
