You mean young Ukranians aren't willing to throw themselves needlessly into a meat grinder? Wow that's real surprising!

I also loved this bit from FT article here https://www.ft.com/content/4d40482a-f8c4-42b8-af60-2374f93070ca

One point of tension between US and Ukrainian officials has centred on how Kyiv has deployed its military. US officials have encouraged Ukraine to be less risk-averse and fully commit its forces to the main axis of the counteroffensive in the south so it would have a chance of breaking through Russian lines to reach the Sea of Azov, effectively cutting Russia’s land bridge in southern Ukraine to Crimea, a critical military hub.

They're basically telling Ukraine to suck it up and accept high losses that will result from throwing their army at well defended lines. Turns out that it's NATO that advocates for human wave tactics that they've been accusing Russia of all this time.

Ukraine probably would see a lot more success if they can use established Soviet military doctrine (deep operation, etc). It's perfect for the theater.

Instead, the West wants to play armchair general and strategically advise Ukraine as well, leading to predictably bad outcomes. Material conditions for the warfare is different, but the American dogma of more firepower has to be always correct. American generals with their big egos are Russia's biggest allies in this conflict lol.
