Ya know, it's odd: I struggle often with the hatred, very literal hatred, I have in my heart for a certain faction of conservatives. These people would advocate for killing people that look like me, as a minority. Some of them have murdered and proclaimed, with absolute ideological sureness, that they definitely do not regret their abhorrent actions. I hate them from the bottom of my heart.
But like...what does killing people do? There's a knee-jerk answer to that questions (obviously, it removes the immediate threat), and then there's the deeper I'm answer I'm looking for.
It's easy to casually suggest that people should be killed. But even people in the military, literally trained to kill other people, come back with PTSD and deep regrets that will last their lifetimes. The experience pierces through the wool that capitalist imperialism pulls over their eyes, and that's saying something! The experience of killing is profoundly disturbing to the killer.
And, all of America is basically one big country-level study of the effects of constant gun violence on communities.
And I struggle with the very idea of killing these people who hate me as much as I hate them. What good would that do really?

You're getting the cause and effect the wrong way around. The gun violence is caused by society being a hyper-exploitative atomised hyper capitalist hellscape with no community and only pain, suffering and struggle. It's not the guns causing that, people turn to the murder suicide option because this society design fries their brain. People could do this anywhere in the world, but america is unique in having an absolutely massive problem with it, while it is also unique in being the only developed country without consumer protections, without basic amenities, without healthcare, without welfare safety nets, without care for the homeless, etc etc. It is a land without love or comradeship.
You want to solve this? Start with redesigning society. Start with redesigning the urban environment that atomises people and prevents community. Start with healthcare and safety nets. Start with making society a place for people instead of a place for the rich to exploit.
Honestly I mostly agree with you like I don't see the point in killing without purpose* and im against retributive justice and have argued that point on this site before. But for me with posts like this my reaciton is just.... "let people vent". I dont think anyone here is a real threat to kill anyone who isnt directly trying to kill them first.
*"Without purpose" is a necessary addendum here because we are revolutionaries here and revolutions will require people opposing it to die sometimes.
stop being bigots and we'll stop advocating for your deaths. it's not that hard.
