It seems to me that the kind of people that would care enough about fairness and equity to be upset enough about the way the API changes negatively affected the unpaid volunteers curating their favorite communities to actually disrupt their own online lives and leave those communities' platforms to go join others, establishing a presence there and abandoning previous platforms, are probably the same kind of people that care about fairness and equity in their actual real world lives.
Idk, maybe I'm naive. That's why I left and stayed gone, though, and I doubt I'm the only one.
