We have an entirely different site culture from reddit and most of lemmy and that can be jarring but it doesn't indicate bad faith or ignorance, in fact it is much the opposite.

Also correcting reactionary historical revisionism isn't "going crazy over historical facts" it's trying to have a productive discussion.
