Enacted in the wake of the Civil War, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment disqualifies from public office any individual who has taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution but then engages in insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or gives aid or comfort to its enemies. No prior criminal conviction is required.

Trump was targeted by plaintiffs in cases for his role in “inciting and facilitating” the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, just after the November 2020 general election in which President Joe Biden defeated Trump.

I am so sick of hearing about their lame attempts to fuck with Trump. All they are doing is validating his perpetual victim complex to his supporters. Keeping his name alive in the news. Boosting him in effect. All because Democrats do not want to move an inch to the left to actually do soemthing for the people. They think all they need to do to win is just point to thicc-trump

Pre-Trump, Republican voters claimed to set the bar at electing "a man's man" and "someone I could have a beer with", not fancy suit, grey poupon Obama who might be Muslim. It made sense to attack Trump as the lazy, prissy, little bitch he is and point out all the commandments hes broken. Problem is there's no sincerity in those voters. They're not American or religious. Just racist, misogynist, severely undereducated, and under deep control by their handlers who have taught them to fear everything.

Trump's crimes really do have to be prosecuted. Otherwise, we just embolden Republicans to keep trying to steal elections.

I think you are spot on about Democrats unwillingness to align themselves with a public that's way to the left of the party. The shittier Republicans get, the more license Democrats think they have to fuck over voters. Then, when they lose, they always find some rationalization to blame it on the left.

Arming the Saudis and directly aiding a genocide in Yemen would be a good crime to prosecute him for, and perfectly valid. But the Does Not Care party is wholly complicit with that as well. I was kind of hoping they'd get him on that during the number of impeachment attempts, but genocide seems to be order of the day in DC.

Taking shit tons of defense bribes and bribes from the same peope who were bribing Bolton via his super PAC who were dubiously conflicted of interest with investments in and development of nukes - I'd say there's a scandal there too, but Hillary was also taking money from them as well.

But yeah it's always the left that's "spoiling" it by their crused accountability yadda yadda.

It's easy to blame the politicians, but what about the voters who keep putting them in office? The solution must come from voters, which is what makes Trump's crimes against free and fair elections so terrible. America seems to be finally starting to wake up, (much more slowly than I would like) but it won't do any good if the right to vote is taken away.

And the Democrats cheat their own primaries, argue in court they have no legal obligation to actually represent the vote, or anide by even their own rules, and bend over backwards to knock 3rd parties off the ballot. Your right to vote / choice is already being actively removed by the same party that screams about the other party.

Yes until Americans shake out of this duopoly crap and tell both D and R corporation to tale a hike the beatings shall continue.

Claiming the Democrats "cheat" is lazy. There has been no credible evidence of any of the kind of mischief the Trump camp was up to.

That said, I am in complete agreement with you that the Democratic party's commitment to free and fair elections is a complete sham. Every aspect of the primary process is designed to give the establishment of both parties every opportunity to manipulate voters.

As for third party ballot access, that is one of the least important issues with the election system. With first past the post, third parties will always be irrelevant or spoilers. That has to be fixed first.

But here is the real difference. Fixing our election system means fixing the laws that govern it. But that does absolutely no good if the laws are ignored. Trump has to be held accountable for his open lawbreaking, or election reform is nothing but public masturbation.
