I liked the Xero shoes I got for running like a year ago so I wanted to get another pair for the gym and a pair for my husband to try out... the prices were so ridiculous tho Amazon and other resellers scalp the shit out of them for some reason AND have shittier stock.

They're like a third of the price if you get them from the website on sale (there's always a sale on less popular models/colors/sizes)

just letting y'all know in case you were looking into getting some anyways

Something about the sole material just wasn't right (either it was too heavy or too thick, I couldn't really place it) and they just weren't shaped right to actually stay on without flopping around

Yes! That's exactly it. I'm a reasonably large, fit guy with feet sized to match. So I need a wide toe box, but I also need them not to flop around like clown shoes. All the support for the cheapos seem to wrap the pressure around the top of the foot and then pull back towards the heel leaving my fascia (which I fucked up earlier this year) completely unsupported. Because the fivefingers wrap around each toe, the pressure is more evenly spread out supporting the whole foot.

I'll have to think about the Xeros, they're still a bit expensive for me, but maybe my next pair once I'm healed up a bit more.

There might be an option to get the shoes you want refurbished or second hand maybe?

I've not had any luck in my googles. I may have to email some of the cobbler people vibram have listed on their site and see if there's anything that can be done. Thanks for the the insight on the Xeros!
