    And i agree with all of that. My point was and is more about your edit i suppose. What you said was simple, my beef is how you said it; the vibe is you were ready with dismissal instead of engaging, when you yourself brought nothing to the table but a struggle

      I get what you mean but it was not aimed at some particular worldview or ideology, just a rib at how the rally round the flag effect seemingly never fails to work on mass publics, especially so in America after the Republicans have more or less destroyed public education in my own lifetime.

      I did not realize I had to bring something to the table on what is usually a comment board full of jokes and memes.

      Is there a sub lemmy where more serious discussion occurs? I am new to lemmy and would be interested in some good long hard throbbing geopolitical analyses.
