For COVID vaccines specifically, there is no protection against reinfection. Every single thing the vaccine was supposed to do got walked back step by step and nobody on the left calls this out.

    • It was supposed to end the pandemic
    • It was supposed to prevent people from even getting COVID in the first place
    • It was supposed to prevent people from spreading COVID (even if they did get it)
    • It was supposed to prevent long-COVID

All of these things have been proven, one after the other during the course of 2021-2022, to be false. And no, herd immunity should not matter, people who are vaccinated should be impervious to the virus--they aren't, not even remotely close.

The COVID vaccine at BEST, and that's if you believe everything they say and give them the benefit of the doubt, gives people a lower chance of death upon first reinfection. But honestly, there are SO many stories of people dropping dead within a week of their first vaccine, many times even on the same day, that I personally do not even believe this much. And it's been medically confirmed that vaccines can cause long-COVID, and the effect of vaccines on preventing long-COVID is slight, and this is even lower for people who were infected with COVID once before they got vaccinated.

To me it's like playing Russian roulette but your potential reward is just a tiny band-aid.
