Some days when I avoid chores it ends up making them bigger and scarier in my mind until I end up avoiding them entirely thinking it's a "lost cause", because I'll "never" finish doing all the dishes, "never" be able to untangle my messed up hair, etc.
I found that just doing part of the task boosts my confidence. Like I dedicate 5 minutes to put dishes away - I set a timer. The whole thing might seem impossible, but 5 minutes is possible. So I set the timer and I start doing the task. And five minutes later I feel more confident, relieved, and I no longer hate myself for my inaction.
The hardest part is getting started. I find that setting a limit on getting started, like "5 minutes", makes it way easier.

Best of luck comrade.
