Manor Lord puts you in charge of a small medieval village with neat graphics. It combines elements of economy, village building, and warfare. The indie game, developed by just one person, has exploded in popularity, landing on over 2 million Steam wishlists and boasting around 150k active players. While still in early access, it's already quite solid, though some players may find it a bit empty.

Wild, I'll check it out. ATM city builder is Farthest Frontier, which is distressingly slow with updates but does have soil nutrition and crop rotations.

Honestly, I always feel like I want a city builder that lands somewhere between Cities Skylines and WOrkers and Resources in terms of complexity, with some more complex crop and housing systems? Really, it would be cool if housing buildings could be "generated" (like, you'd set number of households in an apartment, with whatever amenities, and the structure would get generated). I always kinda rail against the unlocking systems in most games (Tropico is bad for this).
