    I also disagree with the idea it isn’t real at all, but only because it lets second-wave “feminist” transphobes off the hook for their gender essentialist beliefs to imply it doesn’t exist in any capacity. It is however not really real in any way that actually affects cis men.

      But you already called it what it is: gender essentalism. There is nothing the word misandry does that is useful that isn't covered by essentalism.

        Oh you’re absolutely correct, I just meant that the very specific idea of someone theoretically disliking men is real. Because like duh people believe many many things. It probably shouldn’t be called misandry, especially when said term takes attention away from the people the behavior actually harms.
