I kept telling people Francis was a moderate, even within the church. To the Jesuits he's arguably a reactionary.

I mean, he had connections to the last argentinian dictatorship and knew about the desaparecidos --> https://www.laizquierdadiario.com/Jorge-Bergoglio-la-dictadura-y-los-desaparecidos

He IS a reactionary. He was whitewashed by the Kirchnerist-Peronist gov, after becoming the Pope. I still remember him in the march against same sex marriage. Fuck Bergoglio.

On the other hand, Father Mugica was the based one. A member of the Movement of Priests for the Third World. And murdered during the Triple A phase of the repression against social movements.

Yeah it really shows when people have only interacted with American Catholics. In pretty much everywhere else in the world, Catholics are either rich and like the American ones, or poor and based. Well, not 100% based, trans rights are too controversial even in the leftmost communities, but definitely way to the left of Francis.

Yes, some of them, mostly in Latin America and parts of Africa, are progressive (in favor of social justice, which is a word created by the Jesuit order). But I heard they are reactionary in North America and the Anglophonic world.
