She and her husband were part of a campaign to prevent predominantly black kids going to the same school as their kids. Libs dismissed it and snopes rated it false because she said it wasn't segregationist to have all the rich white kids in one school and the black kids in another school, she just wanted what was best for her kids. And making kids have to be transported to different neighbourhoods would ruin their education. She wasn't literally opposed to bussing, she was just opposed to black kids being bussed to her school in this particular instance
