Typically, when I've seen their attacks on ships that get intercepted, they claim that the operation fulfilled its objective (i.e. to force them to expend costly munitions to intercept), not that it actually hit the ship. But this time, they specifically claim to have hit it.
Likely not true unfortunately. Ansar Allah has claimed multiple attacks on US Navy ships that were either old attacks, or intercepted
