in the announcement post for this, i lacked critical information regarding the mods. the modpack being used is Create Extra, which appears to be mostly performance, minor aesthetic, and QOL mods. it shouldn’t result in a performance decrease compared to vanilla
if you want to check out the mods contained in the modpack, here is a link
so again, the options are vanilla+ (server-side mods only) or modded (server- and client-side mods)
for vanilla+
for modded
voting will end Monday, Aug 5 at 5 PM UTC (1 PM EST)
sorry for the confusion
also this server will be pirate-friendly
what does server side only mean here? are you referring to actually only fully server side mods such as server plugins and data packs? or are you referring to only having mods that are both server AND client side at the same time, such as Create by itself? if it is the former than what server plugins and data packs would we use? would any of them add any extra content? is there general awareness that data packs specifically tend to be less performant?
Fabric mods. Server-side only, no client mods.

i find modded minecraft way more interesting but i understand the zen like nature of the original. i vote for modded, but i wish the server luck if it ends up being vanilla+
Me too. The vote rn is split between the two. 11/11.
There are mods that only need to run on the server. For a good example, see young's mods or terralith, both of which you can just run on a fabric server while vanilla clients can join just fine. That way quite a few of nice features can be added to the game.
yes, that was what i was asking
vanilla is super boring so if it's just vanilla by itself ill probably check out
