touched liquid explosive and kept all 10 fingers
Removed by modI was melt-casting ETN for the first time and fucked up real bad. The water bath had cooled to well below the melting point of ETN, but I didn't see anything solid, just a bunch of condensed water on the lid and in the container. I thought maybe it decomposed or something and thoughtlessly poked the puddle with my finger and OOOPS it was liquid ETN.
Maybe I accidentally supercooled it or something because it didn't feel like it was >60C. This experience makes me part of an extremely exclusive club for big dumb idiots. I'm very lucky to have not blown off my hand or face. ETN is a secondary explosive when solid, but while it's melted it's extremely sensitive, more than nitroglycerin.
I didn't know where else to post about it. Be safe in comments, I am using a burner account and TOR.
what is ETN
