A community to discuss and oppose the USA's cultural imperialism, a bit like the .ml community NoYank, except with a better ideological basis and less reactionary mod. The name is just a suggestion and the exact scope can still be worked out.

      I assume antiseptic is a play on the Australian rhyming slang for Americans (septic and seppo)

      Yank = septic tank = septic and seppo

      It originates from WW2 when the US had a lot of troops in Australia and didn't really get on well.

      Following the Battle of Brisbane, resentment towards American troops led to several smaller riots in Townsville, Rockhampton and Mount Isa. Similar riots in other states also followed: Melbourne on 1 December 1942, Bondi on 6 February 1943, Perth in January 1944 and Fremantle in April 1944.
