In 1999, it comes up that we don't know how far in the future we are. This is as a consequence of the Orokin destroying all the old history. However, Loid mentions that there are still palaeolithic cave paintings. Could Loid and Albrecht or literally anyone else not just carbon date pigment samples or something?
I can forgive bugs. I don't know if I can forgive this.
There are methods to calculate how old objects are relative to the current day, but you need to know either when it was made or what the current date is to work out the other one. Older the object is, the less accurately it can be dated, too, so you can end up with margins of error of thousands of years.
Carbon dating specifically is also only good up to ~50,000 years, so wouldn't be able to date most paleolithic paintings today, but I'm assuming you're just generally referring to methods of dating objects.
