A lot of the grifting that Star Citizen gets away with involves reactionary G!merGaters that believe the grift is a bastion of wholesome traditional G!mer values. They circlejerk about that belief a lot on their own official forum. Like, they got really excited that a feeeemale in the Squadron MemeNumber demo was beaten up and held captive by pirates "without wokeness" and weird shit like that.
