I'm seeing a therapist who recommended I take this test and then we talked about the results. He said, based on the test results, I shouldn't be in high-stress environment, or look for competitive jobs etc. Like, he's telling me to decide my career, diagnose my personality etc. based on this ten minute Internet thing wth?
I've been meeting him for a few months and tbh he does this a lot. Like, list cognitive biases, draw that four quadrant Important/Urgent thing, tells me to schedule/make a time table and it basically feels like I'm paying him to tell me stuff I can find on the internet for free or in self-help books.
It's not too costly esp. because I'm in India right now where it's less than $20/ hour. But he just feels like a boomer who's telling me to cut back on using my phone -_-
Edit - Okay, thanks y'all for your comments. I definitely fall on the side of not believing MBT. But I'm still confused as to what to do wrt my therapist. Do I just tell him I don't believe it? What about his other advice? I'm just frustrated because I don't know if he's helping me or not.
