I was thinking the same thing too. There was an AustralianTrains community on Reddit, but it was fairly inactive and never really received many posts. FWIW, I won't be requesting any more train communities, at least not for a long while, as I only follow train news in Melbourne and Sydney (and now Brisbane since there's a community for that here too..).
Given Sydney and Melbourne have the most developed train networks in Australia (and also had the most subscribers on Reddit), I think they should definitely have communities. Obviously I'm biased living in Melbourne and not having visited anywhere besides Sydney though.
