The US only waded in at the last minute to make sure they couldn't liberate all of Europe and immediately in the aftermath of the war set up Gladio and other operations to marginalize, kill, and destroy the popular communist movements. The US intervention in western Europe in WW2 is better seen as the new boss of capital coming in to save the old empires at the cost of their empires and fealty to it, from communism.

I agree, it's incredibly important to dismantle the propaganda that US won WW2 that so many people in the west believe today.
