I think they just took any province with not almost 100% Han Chinese demograhics and gave it red, including Shandong province which is 99% Han Chinese and Sichuan province which is 95% Han Chinese. I love how there's no source at all, and how the data isn't even correct from a propaganda perspective. If you're putting Xinjiang and Tibet as red, you should also be putting Inner Mongolia as red, since they're trying to teach Mongolians Chinese as well as Mongolian in school now that cause a minor hullabaloo in the press last year. Putting Sichuan and Shandong as Red but not Inner Mongolia is honestly inexplicable even for the most brain riddled Sinophobe, so this map fails on just so many levels.
