Ok so my computer is a small thinkpad that runs windows 10 I mostly use it to write and use hexbear.

How do i change to linux?

Either a link to a good concise lay person worded article or some kind patient soul willing to help me in comments.

Thank you for your help!

    If you're entirely new:

    1. Ignore anyone who mentions "Arch" unless it's a wiki link. Much like how there are 193876 micro-sects in communism there are 193876 micro-distributions of linux that are all exactly the same.
    2. Go to https://ubuntu.com and click around. You'll figure it out. The process is very much like reinstalling Windows.

are you just allergic to making this even a little user friendly?

          Quoting the wiki:

Whereas many GNU/Linux distributions attempt to be more user-friendly, Arch Linux has always been, and shall always remain user-centric. The distribution is intended to fill the needs of those contributing to it, rather than trying to appeal to as many users as possible. It is targeted at the proficient GNU/Linux user, or anyone with a do-it-yourself attitude who is willing to read the documentation, and solve their own problems.

People install Arch knowing it's a DIY distro and get disappointed because they need to DIY. It's weird.
