But is it clear to anyone else that the same racism used against American Blacks is being used against the Gazans? On what level is the Israeli lie of "that hospital was a Hamas weapons depot" different from the American lie of "that Black teenager had a gun"? Certainly in scale, it's different, but qualitatively? Maybe not. They are both oppressed by white supremacist colonial forces within the borders of their settler states, after all.
And having two points of reference where the same lie is employed ineffectively gives interesting insights. One might suspect that it's the same lie every time. Perhaps whenever white people insist that "this group is violent, so they must face our violence" is not so much a reflection of reality, and merely indicative of the speaker's colonial mindset.
Because this is not the way revolutionaries think. They understand the necessity of violence, but not in the sense of "an eye for an eye," but with an understanding that violence is a tool that can be employed to the ends of liberation. They do not say "We are killing for retribution," but instead say "we will capture more until the jails are emptied."
here's something for you:

It's pretty obvious to the non-libs I would say, but I think it's not being said enough generally how these are interrelated issues. I think there's a tendency amongst the libs to feel uneasy about drawing out this relationship out of deference to Palestinians and Black Americans (if they are neither of these). It's an unfounded concern IMO, but I think it's related to the competition for attention it would imply. It's really an ideal topic for creating solidarity between these groups in many ways, but americans are so alienated from each other that the impulse that it is a distraction from the other cause might not result in the solidarity in practice as expected.
That's just my sense of the situation at the moment. There's a lot of folks that get it, they just are not libs. Maybe PSL needs to make this part of their election messaging.
They use the same bullshit time and time again because:
1: they're lazy and uncreative (fascists always are) and
2: It works on a depressingly large number of people.
What an awful title... I don't mean to say "if you disagree with me, you're missing the obvious." But I am wondering if this is something very basic that everyone understands.
Also for context, "we will capture more until the jails are emptied" is lifted from an official statement by Hamas on the Oct 7 "terror attacks."
It makes me wonder how easy it would be to villainize black Americans and justify mass killing us if it came down to it.
clicked around a bit and found this link:

You're totally correct in this, which is why we've always held solidarity for Palestinians
here's another useful analysis comparison that can be made, the disproportional deaths are also highly correlated
https://israelpalestinetimeline.org/charts/
https://shadowproof.com/2014/09/29/police-killed-v-killed-by-police-a-statistical-perspective/
based on just two random samplings I could find above
the ratios by deaths from the other
Palestine : Israel = 8.3277928102
US persons : US cops = 10.35443038
these are very rough numbers with different time frames, etc, but they are in a similar range and direction
