What’s the quality like? The reviews are mostly positive, but I’ve seen some negative ones saying the quality is varied with some being thinner than others. Thinking of grabbing a traditional black and white, red and white, and an inverted black one for the coming winter days. Also, they all seem out of stock
Well, this is my first and only middle-eastern keffiyeh, so I don't have a lot of frame of reference. The keffiyeh/kufiya/shemagh is originally used to protect people from desert environment, so it is made out of relatively thin cotton to protect you from sunburn and sand and quite breathable. I've only ever wore wool scarf before, so in comparison cotton scarf I feel is less harsh and agitating, with that regards I really like the feel. It also looks awesome. It is really big, like a half cape worth of textile, so I can fold it and have almost 4 layers worth of cloth around my neck if I'm gonna wear it as winter scarf. Seems to work okay in Colorado autumn breeze, but kinda unwieldy and not quite windproof. Furthermore, for €32 I cannot compare how the hirbawi scarfs compare to your regular in-stock made in china cotton scarf. I bought the hirbawi specifically in solidarity so I'd say it is worth the money. Hirbawi is one of the last "made in Palestine" factory. As Yasser Arafat popularized keffiyeh as symbol of Palestinian solidarity, the increased global demand ironically drove a lot of keffiyeh factory in Palestine out of business as they cannot with compete mass produced chinese keffiyehs .
I wanted to get the another one in white and red, as it is a symbol of the PFLP. I signed up on "Notify me" symbol, and got an email notification on November 8th that it was available for preorder- but the website that day was really buggy presumably because of increased traffic. I managed as far as to put one into my cart before it disappeared out of stock. Seems like they restock every month, so I'm gonna try to get another one next month.
If you really want one, there are a couple of hirbawis on sale on ebay from various sellers. You can probably contact the seller and ask for picture to make sure it is a legit hirbawi. Or if you don't care about the 'made in Palestine' and just want a checkered black and white cotton scarf then you can just get one from Aliexpress or amazon

Yeah I was really lucky I ordered mine in October, it took one month and just arrived today. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm really proud that later that month hirbawi decided to donate all their profits in the month of October to Palestine American Medical Association (PAMA) to help people in Gaza and I contributed to that.

amazonThe quality of all mine seems absolutely top tier. I'm not like a textile expert or anything though.
