1964 The House Of The Rising Sun The best karaoke song of all time. You bet I belted that one out. The door's open so the neighbours got to hear. Lucky ducks.
P.S. Everytime I call for an intermission the man plays Metallica.
If its available, Do Wah Diddy is a super easy option. You only have to sing every second line (the crowd will enthusiastically fill in the rest), the vocal range required is really easy, and the song only goes for 2 minutes.
My last girlfriend before I met my wife was Filipina and well, the Karaoke stereotype in that community is real. I had to build a small repertoire of things I could be dragged out to sing.
Ooohhh it's been many years, let's see how many I can remember.
I have a good speaking voice, but I'm not much of a singer. I can hold a tune ok, but my range is limited to an octave or so. It's deep, think Nick Cave.
I picked Nick, as I can duet the Wild Roses well.
New York, New York.
Base part of Blue Moon as a duet.
Ice Ice Baby (yep, there was a time where I could do the rap).
Anything by Bing Crosby (White Christmas was my go-to).

That song is one of the few I can comfortably sing and carry the tune.
I'm not sure if this was a number one hit but Shelter from the Storm - Bob Dylan, slaps like few others do
No Bob Dylan. I love Bob though and love that song. Any other guesses?
