    would that be early judaism tho? or the native canaanite religion.

    the way i understand it, some failsons in the capital got super into monotheism somehow, and spent a lot of time trying to get their proto-jewish peasants to stop worshipping the many old gods. and that was the start of judaism.

      native canaanites were at war with the promised people and then displaced or idk , but the ancient jewish gods were multiple it seems .

        iirc they are a tribe of Canaanites and eventually win out. There is a theory that they practiced Monolatry, the worship of a singular god, but without denying the existence of other deities.
