Good news, everyone.

Guess opinions are changing, at the very least, and it's affecting the institutions internally, I think.

This is sourced from an eight-month-old NY Post article that tells us they're just hiring more cops when existing ones quit:

The NYPD’s 33,822 uniformed cops are already 1,208 below the budgeted headcount, documents show, and 2,467 cops short of the 36,289 roster at the start of 2020.

In January 2023 we hired more than 500 individuals who are currently training at the Police Academy in addition to the approximately 2000 individuals we hired in 2022.”

As usual, it's a propaganda article sourced exclusively from the police union and department that reproduces their common argument:

    • wahhh being a cop is so hard in today's WOKE world
    • give cops more money

    Don't believe this crap

When your job is just being one of five guys sitting in a subway guarding a Police Robot garbage can that costs twice their annual salary on the maintenance fees, who can blame them?

I suspect it's more likely that they weren't decent but previously they didn't get the level of hate they now get. This has made the job hell for them and they've left because they shitty weaklings that couldn't hack the new attitudes. Probable that they could pretend they were good people before it got shitty and now they have a hard time pretending.

Being a cop is so fucking easy. You get immunity from everything, you can put in requests for new guns as military tech, you can steal people’s money and use surveillance for personal use. And these fuckers still complain

I suspect the would-be cops were complaining about just that aspect, or at least, I hope they were disgusted by what they saw...
