It's dogshit. Everything exists just to squeeze money out of you, and there is no break from it. All notion of community is gone, and it was killed for profit. Housing is fucked up and the "left wing" NDP won't do anything, good luck ever retiring. I have to live on the other side of the GVA from my job because the pay is shit and I can't afford to rent anywhere closer. It's all just so tiring, it's draining the life out of me and the people I know, slowly killing us so some asshole can live their cushy life off our backs

I know it's like this in every major city, but I just needed to rant. Vancouver paints itself as a welcoming progressive utopia and is so smug about it, all the while it's sending cops to exterminate homeless encampments and driving everyone into poverty. Boomers and the rich act like everything is fine, but this city is held together by toothpicks and scotch tape; I hope that when the housing bubble pops, it takes them with it

    It's a very cold city I agree (regardless of temperature), what can be done though?
