I’d like to add to this that the goal of all of this is to spread out economic centers in order to reduce homelessness, because the main source of homelessness in China is people migrating from rural communities to find work in larger cities.
If they can expand the rails, but for freight, then they would experience massive economic growth.
This really gives you a sense of how backwards the western world is. Dialectical materialism is the way forward, and it’s a shame that the west has purged it.
For sure, the rail system in China is simple recognition of the fact that moving goods and people around is the core of the economy. Population centres close to trade routes grow, and those that are far away from trade wither. A high speed rail network ensures that economic activity is evenly spread across the country, this leading to the standard of living and development growing evenly.
Population centres close to trade routes grow, and those that are far away from trade wither.
Funnily how even the worst western historians do know that in context of let's say ancient Asia and Europe, but once the modern means of transportation appears it all turns into "moar profit"
An urbanism channel that doesn’t criticise China? That’ll get them kicked out of breadtube and/or nebula for sure.
Oftentimes I think China is the only developing country in the world. Almost all other so called developing countries lack the resources or the political will or both for reason within or outside their control.
cw: i mention anti-chinese racism
My relatives for example have no idea what Chinese cities look like. For example, you can't even begin to compare Beijing and New Delhi. It would be an insult to Beijing. Instead they crack racist "jokes" about Chinese people eating non-comventional animals. They are too fascist to be educated and I am waiting for the cultural revolution so I can rat them out.
For sure, you must have your own domestic industry in order to do any meaningful development. I think the reason China is the only country in the world that's visibly developing is precisely because Chinese political system is Marxist at its core and Chinese government recognizes that it's the material economy that matters above all else.
At Amerika's cost, fortunately. Reverse the brain-drain let's go!
