I keep hearing good things about motoGP. If I want to watch a race from this year what was an especially good one for a new viewer?

I have to say I'm not sure, most races have way more fighting compared to F1 for example, and are generally more entertaining.
But I wouldn't know out of hand which specific race to recommend.

To get into MotoGP watch the documentary Hitting the Apex. It is so good and made me watch it more often a few years ago.

Edit: I just saw that MotoGP uploads Highlights to their YouTube channel as well. Maybe something to look at too...

Appreciate the response. I brought up a race just because that's how I really got into f1, watching the actual thing. Drive to Survive was nice for getting to know some of the personalities but honestly its heavily manufactured drama and lack of any real race coverage didn't do much for me, I don't know if Apex is similar in its presentation.

Think I'll pick a random race from this season if they're all generally entertaining.

Another thing if you have time on a lazy sunday, give the Moto2 races(support series like F2) a shot.
Often they have even better racing because the bikes are basically all the same and the drivers are super eager to show off their skills to get into the GP series.
