As Android updates get faster, does it matter if they're also more sporadic?

Android updates as a whole have been getting way faster over the years, but they also seem to be getting more sporadic too.

I've been doing a manual check every day since the update was announced and I'm still on the November patch

I even got one of those repeat patches where it says there's an update and to reboot but I still ended up on the November patch anyway
