    Its really fucking sad and alienating that the first thing I thought when I saw this was "oh hey I remember that area from GTA 4"

    Why do they still use wood ties? Wouldn't it make far more sense to use concrete, considering how many trains go down these tracks?

      Assuming my assumption that this is New York holds true, hahahaahahahahaha you think the MTA is going to ever conclusively do anything to proactively maintain infrastructure in NYC hahahahahaha. I'll add it to the to-do list post-revolution right after "buy signals that aren't 120 years old" and "have train cars newer than me on the most widely used lines," maybe just after "make tunnels not prone to being underwater in anything more than a light shower."

      Something something america doesn’t provide towards its infrastructure at all. Reconstruction of the entire system would take fkin years. I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper for them to replace one or two every 100 years
